Datum — Construction Intelligence
Datum is construction management software for civil and heavy-highway contractors — the companies that build highways, bridges, culverts, earthwork, and underground utilities. It replaces the disconnected set of systems most contractors run side by side: one app for the field, spreadsheets in the office, an accounting package that only sees a job after the month closes, and email holding the gaps together.
One living record
Datum puts field, office, and finance on the same record. A quantity a foreman reports from the shoulder of the road in the morning is the quantity the project manager sees at noon and the quantity that reaches the cost report at month end. It is entered once, by the person closest to the work, and every screen downstream reads that entry instead of re-keying it. Nothing is retyped between departments, so there is no version of the job that disagrees with another.
What the platform covers
Datum spans the whole life of a job, from the bid through the final pay application:
- Daily field reports and timecards
- RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Estimating and bid management
- Safety: incidents, inspections, certifications, and toolbox talks
- Equipment and inventory, including dispatch and utilization
- Surveying and CAD
- Hauling and material tracking
- Cost projection and finance
Who it is for
Datum is built for contractors whose work is measured in stations, quantities, and crew-days rather than floors and units: highway and bridge builders, grading and excavation contractors, and utility contractors, along with the estimators, project managers, safety staff, and accountants who support them from the office.
How Datum uses AI
Datum reads bid documents, drafts reports, and pre-fills forms from what it already knows about the job. Every one of those outputs is a starting point a person reviews, edits, or discards — AI drafts and pre-fills, and a person stays in charge.
The platform itself is private. This page and Datum’s status and legal pages are public; everything else needs a customer account. To reach us, email brett@datumci.com.
